Annie was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Art from Lake Forest College, located in the Chicago area. After working as a 1:1 aide she decided to go back to school at DePaul University where she received her masters in Language Literacy and Special Education. Annie has worked in many different schools in Chicago, New York City, and San Francisco and she has never felt more at home than she does at Helix. She is dedicated to making strong connections with each student and family as well as the staff at Helix. A goal for Annie this year is to make sure that each classroom is a safe and positive learning environment where all individual student needs are considered on a daily basis and instruction is student centered. In her free time she loves spending time with her rescue dog Disco, enjoying nature, and discovering new music.
