Dave Mariani, MS, AMFT, APCC was born and raised in Marin County and has a deep passion for working with young people to develop socially and emotionally, build resilience, and live proudly as their most authentic selves. He graduated from University of San Francisco with a BS in Organizational Behavior and Leadership, and from Dominican University of California with a MS in Counseling Psychology. Dave has been privileged to serve a diverse range of student and family populations in both elementary schools and at an alternative high school education center. Dave chose the Helix School because it is a community that seamlessly mirrored his values, and allows him to pursue his passion for supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged young people through individualized and clinically-tailored mental health therapies. In addition, Dave believes in giving back to his community, and has volunteered his time in a variety of activities including as a youth basketball and baseball coach, and as a suicide prevention hotline counselor.  Dave enjoys spending time with family and being outdoors in nature with his 12 year-old son. He also loves to read, garden, and participate in physical activities including yoga, running, and swimming.
