WHAT IS THE LUMINARY GALA?
The gala celebrates people in the autism community who have done exceptional work on behalf of children. with autism and their families. The gala is an opportunity to thank them for their dedication and love for the community while raising much needed funds to support our students and our program.
About Diane Provo...our inaugural luminary
Diane Provo brings more than 35 years of experience to her clients. One look at her testimonials reveals that she can have a serious impact on the lives of families and the issues they face. "Diane is loved by children and is considered a "God-send" to many parents.
Diane conducts her education consulting practice in Marin County. She has a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Education, with an emphasis in Special Education. She has taught special education classes in both public and private schools, coordinated special education programs for Head Start, taught graduate school at Dominican University and consulted on a regular basis for the Institute for Learning Difficulties in San Rafael. She creates and develops comprehensive programs for children with Autism and PDD, which includes selecting and prioritizing appropriate interventions as well as supervising and consulting with school-based and home-based programs.
Diane co-authored the books Starting Blocks and Kids Are Great...When You Know How They Work. She also co-designed the Starting Blocks Readiness Inventory, a skill assessment program for preschools to use in determining a child's level of school readiness.
We can’t wait to celebrate and honor this luminary in the field of autism.

The Helix School was founded in 2014 and is a leader in providing comprehensive, individualized, evidence-based education for Bay Area children with autism. Our dedicated and loving staff utilize their expertise to nurture and develop our students' capabilities in a school entirely integrated with the essential therapies needed to help a student flourish.
