The Helix School has begun a comprehensive search for its next Executive Director. The successful candidate will step into the role by July 1, 2027.
In partnership with Strategenius, the Search Committee is leading an inclusive process that will include input from across the Helix community.

We want the Helix community to be involved in this search. Here are some ways to stay engaged:
Discovery Meetings
Strategenius will hold Discovery meetings with faculty, staff, students, and parents during the week of September 14, 2026. The purpose of these meetings is to learn more about the culture of the school and what the community is looking for in the next Executive Director.
Community Survey
Fill out the Strategenius survey sent during the Discovery phase.
Finalist Visits
Finalists will visit the Helix campus to meet with faculty, staff, students, and parents. Community members will have the chance to meet each candidate and share feedback through post-visit surveys.

Mary Rose Fernandez
Senior Search Consultant and Chief of Staff
Mary Rose brings extensive experience in education, teacher development, and independent schools. Her career has included teaching, leading multicultural teacher recruitment and development programs, and serving on nonprofit and school boards. She holds a BA from the University of San Francisco and a master’s degree from UC Berkeley.
Ara Brown
Senior Consultant
Ara brings more than 20 years of experience in independent school and higher education leadership, including roles as Dean of Students, Head of Middle School, Head of Upper School, and Assistant Head of School. He has also worked nationally on leadership development and DEI in independent schools. Ara holds graduate degrees from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.
